Who are you?

John 1:22-23 Finally they said, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”
The people were asking John one of the most important questions in life; a question that each one of us should depart this planet having answered about ourselves. Fortunately John knew that he was the voice. Not knowing yourself will lead to confusion and wasting much time in trying to figure out life events around you. We tend to underestimate the importance of knowing ourselves. Many of us go through each day reacting to events and just getting by rather than making conscious choices based on who we are and what we want. When we don't know where we are headed it's hard to set goals, get motivated and determine the best course of action. Before we can do any of these things we must establish who we are. Have you ever answered without doubt the question of – ‘who are you?’ It is very important to know precisely who you are. Knowing and understanding yourself better, in turn, leads to better decision making, setting and reaching appropriate goals and ultimately living more a productive life. Knowing yourself means respecting your values in life, your beliefs, your personality, your priorities, your moods, your habits, your magnificent body, and your relationships. Knowing yourself means knowing your purpose in life. Purpose carries your destiny and your destiny carries your success story!
